dirt under rug

Step 1

Rug Beating

Removes dust & debris

We shake the rug vigorously by using a rug beater to remove loose dirt and debris. We then use a vacuum cleaner with a gentle attachment to remove the remaining dirt.

Step 2

Spot Cleaning

Gentle stain treatment

After carefully inspecting the rug for stains and soiled areas, we prepare a solution of mild shampoo and water to then use a brush and/or a sponge depending on the nature of the stain to gently spot clean those areas.

Step 3

Hand Washing

Brushed with the pile to protect fibers

We gently scrub the rug with a soft brush in the direction of the pile, to maintain its natural flow. We do this very carefully as not to damage rugs with loose weaves to prevent any fiber damage, scrubbing until all dirt is lifted

Step 4

Rinsing

Thorough soap removal

Once the rug has been thoroughly washed, we drain the soapy water. We repeat the process to ensure that we have removed all remaining shampoo.

Step 5

Drying

Flat air-dry, never twisted or wrung

Without wringing, twisting, or otherwise distorting the shape of the rug, we gently remove excess water and lay it on a dry, flat surface where we flip it over occasionally to ensure that both sides air dry evenly.

Step 6

Final Touches

Fiber fluffing & final grooming

Once the rug is completely dry, we shake it to fluff up the fibers, as well as shear any excess threads.
